Robo Carnival held at BUET: Champion Team MARS
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organized the two-day robot carnival organized by the students in the ECE building of the university and the team MARS (Modern Automative for Remote Surveying) became the Champion. Team Shaheen became the First Runner up in the competition by creating a fire fighter bot.
The joint second Runner-Up in the competition was Team Atlas Fremo. The team won by building a robot for farming. BU Robotics Club also won this award by making an e-bike.
The Team Laboratorians won the Special prize in the competition whereas; the O-zone and the Kaktarua BUBT teams won the Honorable Mention award. The BUET Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satya Prasad Majumdar handed over the prizes on Friday, 20 January, 2023. The motto of the Robo carnival was ‘Build Robot for Smart Bangladesh’.
Around 500 students from different schools, colleges and universities of the country divided into 125 teams and participated in the two-day long carnival.
Besides, the carnival was organized to teach and motivate students about various segments of robotics like dust collection robot competition, and fire fighter robot competition.
Apart from the fire fighting robot and trash collector robot competition, a project demonstration, a workshop on robotics simulation software was held.
Tariqul Islam Tanveer, a student of Gopalganj Polytechnic Institute also demonstrated 'Earthquake Digital Safety System'.
In the initial phase, BUET students take preliminary tests and presentations of projects and later BUET teachers evaluated those projects.
